How to use

- Run the conversion and read the decimal code for each character.
- Switch to ASCII codes to text to decode values separated by spaces or commas.
- Copy the output for a protocol example or debugging note.
Examples
Inspect a line break
The letter A is code 65 and line feed is code 10.

Distinguish characters from byte values
ASCII assigns integer codes to 128 basic characters and controls. This converter shows the decimal code for each entered character, including spaces and line breaks. In the other direction, it turns a list of decimal values back into a string. It is useful when reading a small protocol trace, explaining a control character, or checking a sample from older software.
This is deliberately a strict ASCII tool. A character outside U+0000 through U+007F is rejected instead of silently replacing it. Modern text commonly uses UTF-8, where accented letters and emoji take one or more bytes above the ASCII range. Use the Text / Binary Converter to inspect those bytes. Decimal codes are separated by spaces in the output; decoding accepts spaces or commas. Some decoded controls may appear blank or move the cursor, so inspect the code list when visual output looks surprising.
Processing happens locally in the shared Web Worker. Long code lists are decoded in chunks so they do not exceed the JavaScript argument limit. The input is not transmitted to a server.
Frequently asked questions
Does it support emoji or accented letters?
No. ASCII is limited to code values 0 through 127. Use the UTF-8 Text / Binary Converter for Unicode.
Can I decode control characters?
Yes. Values such as 9, 10, and 13 produce tab, line feed, and carriage return.
How do I separate codes?
Use spaces, line breaks, or commas between decimal values.
Why is a decoded character invisible?
Some ASCII codes represent control characters rather than printable symbols.
