PPTX to Text

Read the text stored on each slide of a modern PowerPoint PPTX file. The result lists slides in order so you can review wording, create a rough outline, or reuse content. Files stay on your device and the tool does not render slide images.

✓ Every tool runs in your browser. We do not upload your input or output.

Review the words without opening every slide

A content pass over a presentation often starts with simple questions: are the titles clear, are terms consistent, and is a key message missing? This tool extracts text elements from each PPTX slide and groups them under a slide number. The output can be searched, copied, or downloaded as a plain-text reference.

Text extraction is not an accessibility description or a replacement for looking at the slides. It does not describe photos, charts, diagrams, animations, or speaker notes. Text in grouped shapes may appear in file order rather than the order a viewer would read it visually. Always compare with the original deck before publishing or using the text as a transcript.

The tool processes the PPTX locally in a browser worker. A file and slide limit keeps the operation bounded. If you want to make a new simple deck from revised wording, use Outline to PPTX. That creates a new presentation and does not edit the original styling.

Frequently asked questions

Are images and charts described?

No. The tool extracts stored text elements. It does not describe visual content or read values from every chart.

Are speaker notes included?

No. This version reads the main slide XML only. Review notes in a presentation editor.

Does it support .ppt files?

No. The older binary .ppt format is not the same as PPTX.

Will extraction preserve layout?

No. The result is plain text in slide order, not a visual rendering or exact reading-order guarantee.

What is the limit?

The file must be under 10 MB and contain between 1 and 200 slides.
