Word Tools
DOCX to HTML
Extract semantic HTML from a modern Word DOCX file. Headings, paragraphs, lists, links, tables, and supported images become markup you can inspect and download. The document is processed locally, and the HTML preview is displayed as text rather than executed.

Get structure from a Word document
A DOCX file can contain headings, lists, tables, images, links, comments, and page-level formatting. When the next destination is a webpage or content editor, the meaning of headings and paragraphs is often more useful than a visual copy of Word’s pages. This tool uses those semantic cues to produce HTML. It helps move a procedure, draft article, or internal note into a format that can be edited for the web.
The conversion does not guarantee identical fonts, line breaks, columns, page headers, or page numbers. Complex documents need careful review. Tables and images may need editing in the destination system. The preview shows HTML as plain code, so any markup in the document is not executed on the tool page.
Downloaded HTML from an untrusted document must be sanitized before insertion into a website. This tool is a content extractor, not a security review or a full Word renderer. For a new simple Word file from plain paragraphs, use Text to DOCX.
Frequently asked questions
Will the HTML look exactly like Word?
No. This is a semantic content export. Complex layout and page styling are not preserved.
Are images supported?
Supported images may be embedded in the HTML as data URLs. Check the downloaded file size and result before publishing.
Is the HTML safe to publish immediately?
Treat content from an untrusted DOCX as untrusted HTML. Review and sanitize it for your publishing environment first. The site only displays the result as code.
Does this accept old .doc files?
No. The older binary .doc format is different from DOCX and is not supported here.
Is the document uploaded?
No. Conversion runs in a browser worker and the output is downloaded locally.
